OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The Young Eagles are designed to give children between the ages of 8 to 17 an opportunity to experience flight in a general aviation airplane while educating them about aviation.
Brian O’Lena with the local Young Eagles chapter says at EAA, there is a special opportunity.
“We provide these kits at discounted prices that chapters can use to build RC aircrafts and that they can fly at their local chapter.”
He says the fun does not stop there. One 12-year-old girl got to fly with Packer’s Tight End Jimmy Graham, a supporter of the program.
Young Eagles are coming from all over, and O’Lena says they are keeping track where on the map all the guests are coming from.
“If they come in they can put a pin on their place on the map and show that they were here.”
He says the blue barn is open daily from 8:30 to 4:30 this week.
