OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Oshkosh School Board has selected its newest board member.
The board selected Oshkosh Area School District parent Angie Lee to fill the vacant seat created by the resignation of Bob Poeschl.
Poeschl, the former board president, resigned in September.
Lee will fulfill Poeschl’s term, which finishes in April, but will not serve as president. That roll is being fulfilled by the board’s former vice president, Barb Herzog.
Lee was selected from a total of seven candidates who interviewed during a special meeting on Wednesday. The board said all candidates were clearly qualified and that the members appreciated each of the candidates’ willingness to serve the community.
Lee has worked in education as a bilingual cross categorical teacher, bilingual literacy interventionist and a cross categorical teacher. She now works as a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant as well as brand storyteller and client relations specialist for a creative agency. She also leads two DEI committees.
Should she choose, Lee will have the opportunity to run for a seat and full term on the board in the April election.
