GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The gun deer season is fast approaching with many hunters getting their safety equipment checked and their firearms loaded. Perhaps the most important thing for hunters to remember is safety.
“We should never assume a firearm is unloaded.” said Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden Brad Wilson. “We should always assume that it is loaded at all times.”
Hunters are also being asked by the Department of Natural Resources to be mindful of Chronic Wasting Disease. Learn more about Chronic Wasting Disease and how to test deer here.
The gun dear season runs November 19-27. For more information on the deer hunting season, visit the Wisconsin DNR website.
