GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A man who attacked a Green Bay Metro Fire Department Lieutenant was apparently under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Lieutenant was attempting to get the man out of a dangerous intersection when he was attacked.
26-year-old Jamie Sinclair of Winnipeg, Canada has been charged with felony battery to a firefighter and a misdemeanor disorderly conduct and obstruction charges.
According to the criminal complaint, Fire Lt. Cody Johnson came across Sinclair at the intersection of Broadway and Dousman on Wednesday, where Johnson tried to coerce Sinclair out of the lanes of traffic.
Sinclair punched Johnson in the head with closed fists before Johnson and good Samaritans were able to tackle Sinclair.
A police officer on the scene tried to handcuff Sinclair, but he resisted and was yelling he wanted to go back to Canada. Officers then used pepper spray to get him into a squad car, the complaint states.
