MANTIWOC, WI (WTAQ) – A Milwaukee man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Manitowoc gas station.
Police say their investigation into the Sept. 21 incident at Popp’s Harbor Town Citgo led them to 25-year-old Damone Ezell.
During a search warrant at his residence in Milwaukee Thursday, police say they found several items related to the robbery.
Police say they are recommending charges against Ezell. Formal charges have not been filed.

On 09-26-2019, Detectives from the Manitowoc Police Department along with members of the Milwaukee Police Department (Robbery Division) executed a search warrant at 3802 N. 54 th St. Milwaukee, WI regarding Popp’s Harbor Town Citgo Armed Robbery which occurred on 09-21-2019. Information had been developed that the suspect in the case (Damone D. Ezell DOB 07-23-1994) lived at that address. The search warrant was executed and Ezell was taken into custody without incident. Several items related to the Robbery at Popp’s were located at the residence. Ezell was transported to Manitowoc and was booked into the county jail. Ezell will have a bail hearing on 09-27-2019 at 12:45pm at the Manitowoc County Courthouse.
Based on the results of this investigation, Ezell was charged with the following violations of Wisconsin State Statute:
ROBBERY: By use or threat of use of a dangerous weapon (tire iron) 953.32(2)
BAIL JUMPING: Misdemeanor:
