MANAWA, WI (WTAQ) – Students at Manawa Elementary School were moved to Little Wolf High School Monday for safety reasons.
The Elementary School released a statement on Monday stating that a threatening message was found in a bathroom, causing police involvement and an evacuation.
Principal Michelle Pukita stated the situation was taken seriously.
At about 2:30 p.m. Manawa Elementary School staff and students walked over to the Jr./Sr. High School for dismissal.
At about 3:15 p.m., the School District of Manawa received the “all clear” from law enforcement personnel.
“This is an active investigation and no further information will be shared at this time. Thank you for your patience and cooperation through this challenging experience. Please be assured that the School District of Manawa takes the safety and wellbeing of your children as our primary priority.”
Parents were able to pick their kids up at the High School at the end of the school day and students traveling by bus were sent home from the High School.
