MADISON, WI (WSAU) A woman is accused of leaving her child alone at a neighbor’s home in order to shoplift in Madison. Authorities say the incident happened Friday morning at the Woodman’s on the city’s West Side.
The 35-year-old woman’s two-year-old child was later discovered at a neighbor’s home alone with a dirty diaper. Police entered the home after they heard the child and no one answered the door.
The mother is facing charges of child neglect. The child has been placed in protective custody.
