GREEN BAY (WTAQ-WLUK) – A cold front moving through the upper Midwest caused temperatures to plummet Friday.
Morning temperatures were in the low 60s Friday morning. They fell into the 40s by late Friday afternoon.
The quick turnaround has a De Pere mom wondering what’s going on with Wisconsin’s seasons.
“Will it actually be a fall and winter,” Naomi Krzyzanowski said, “On the nice days it’s great because I get to go outside and hang out with my kids, but it’s really tough when the weather fluctuates so significantly. You never really know how to dress and prepare for the day because you don’t know if it’s going to start raining out of the blue lately.”
Jermaine Vanstraten was born and raised in Green Bay.
“It’s hard to see with the glasses, you know they get fogged up,” Vanstraten said.
He says it’s the rain bothers him more than the cold.
“Just trying to get home and get out of this weather,” Vanstraten said, “If you ask me, I’d rather have riding season all year long!”
The National Weather Service in Green Bay says his prayers probably won’t be answered.
Weather Service meteorologist Kira Jessie said, “The cold front is where that separation is between the warmer moist air. It’s a boundary showing that there’s cooler, drier air on the other side of that.”
Jessie says the colder fall air is normal for this time of year, and winter isn’t coming just yet.
“This is not the end of fall by any means,” said Jessie.
