UNDATED (WSAU) Veterans in Racine now have 15 tiny homes available to them to help cut down on the problem of homelessness. Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin held a grand opening this weekend for the James A. Peterson Veteran Village and the SC Johnson Community Center. Local businesses and residents pitched in to make the project a reality.
Along with housing, VOW officials say they will be working with the veterans to give them all the tools the need for success, including mental health counseling, veterans benefit searches, financial advice, housing placement, and employment help.
Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin says “ we are committed to assisting homeless and at-risk veterans in returning to a life of normalcy. The brave men and women who donned the uniform of our Armed Forces have earned and deserve a hand up should they fall on hard times.”
