CLINTONVILLE (WTAQ-WLUK) – The man shot and killed during an armed robbery in Neenah is being celebrated by family, friends, and co-workers.
A funeral and procession were held for Kevin “Hollywood” Hein on Saturday.
Seeing the hundreds of people who came to pay their respects, it shows how one man touched the lives of so many people.
Coworkers say when a member of Pierce Manufacturing passes away, the protocol is to lead a procession with one fire truck.
But for Hein you would see two. He worked at Pierce for over 30 years and friends say he’s the type of man that would give you the shirt right off his back.
“He’s in heaven and he’s made the rain stay away so we don’t get wet on his ride,” said close friend Mike Bowen.
Hundreds came to Hein’s funeral service in Clintonville Saturday afternoon.
It started with a procession that left from Pierce Manufacturing.
While many loved ones have cherished memories of the biker
“A gentle giant,” described Dawn Moeriecke.
“We need more people like that in this world,” said Scott Grieg.
“He’s one of the closest friends I ever had,” said Bowen.
Bowen says he’ll never forget his first time meeting the man also known as “Hollywood.”
“He says “Hollywood”, I says ‘nope, you’re a flatlander. And for 20 years I called him flatlander, and we’ve been best friends ever since.,” Bowen remembers.
Grieg remembers Hein as a hard worker.
“He went to hit a log and missed it and cut his leg open and I think it was like 40 something stitches that he had there,” Grieg recalls. “I remember him being back to work right away, like, the following Monday. So that’s one that’s always going to stick in my mind,” he said with a smile.
“He was a very dear friend of mine, we dated for a while,” said Moericke. “He was a big teddy bear!”
While many of Hollywood’s co workers came to Saturday’s funeral, none wanted to go on camera. That’s because they say today is about Kevin, and what he meant to this community.
Hein died after being shot and killed at Short Branch Saloon in Neenah early Monday morning.
Police are still searching for the suspect and released videos of him and the car he happened to be driving.
