MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Manitowoc tourism is looking to start a new chapter as it unveils its new branding.
The city’s Department of Tourism, known as Visit Manitowoc, unveiled its new logo and branding to the public Wednesday.
When the department was created earlier this year, Visit Manitowoc temporarily adopted the City of Manitowoc’s logo. Now, the department has made its own.
The branding includes a comprehensive color palette, series of fonts and logos. The color palette includes a family of blues to tie in the city’s lakeshore.
The main logo features an abstract M, its shape inspired by the waves of Lake Michigan, a farm landscape and boat sails in the marina to include the city’s rich shipbuilding history.
Visit Manitowoc described the city’s characterization as “friendly sophistication” and believes the new branding exemplifies this.
“We strongly believe that the future of tourism has never been brighter in Manitowoc,” said Visit Manitowoc’s Director of Tourism Courtney Hansen.
“This fresh, new brand will aid in showcasing and elevating our destination to make a profound economic impact across our community through tourism.”
The new branding will be featured in projects from Visit Manitowoc, including the visitor information center and the upcoming 2023 visitor guide.
A new website will also launch in early 2023.
