GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Green Bay Packers staved off a tenacious effort by the New England Patriots to take an overtime victory 27-24 on Sunday, improving to 3-1 on the season.
Mason Crosby scored the winning field goal to put the cherry on top in the win.
Aaron Rodgers went 21/35 for 251 yards in the win with two touchdowns and an interception. That interception was returned for a touchdown. Aaron Jones had 113 rushing yards. Allan Lazard had 116 receiving yards to lead the team.
The Patriots relied on third-string quarterback, rookie Bailey Zappe, who went 10/15 for 99 yards in their loss. Zappe came into the game after backup QB Bryan Hoyer went down early with a concussion following a sack. Hoyer was starting in place on Mac Jones, who is injured and did not travel with the team.
The Packers will now prepare to face the New York Giant next Sunday in London.
