WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The 20th annual “Festival of Trees” fundraiser raised $215,000, shattering the goal set at $165,000. It was also the most money ever raised by the event in its 20-year history.
The event, that was held at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Rothschild, saw more than 110 trees, wreaths, and specialty items that were all donated by members of the community for a raffle and silent auction.
The money from the event will be going toward a renovation project for the 18-year-old Aspirus Hospice House and support efforts to make patients as comfortable as possible near the end of their life.
