GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – If you attended the Green Bay Packers game Sunday night against the Chicago Bears, you may have noticed duplicate charges on your credit or debit card after purchasing food or drinks at Lambeau Field.
he Packers released a statement about the charges Monday afternoon, informing fans that the pending duplicate charges will not be completed.
The team said that FreedomPay — the payment processor used by the Packers’ food and beverage provider, Delaware North — is currently voiding all duplicate transactions before they are processed.
But one fan says she had all of her money drained from her account.
Krystal Edwards explained, “I get notifications on all of my charges, and when it popped up multiple times near midnight that I was charged $13.19, I’m like ‘Wait a second — I only bought two sodas, one time.’ There were 12 charges on my account.”
It was her first Packers game and might be her last after the experience. “It doesn’t make people want to return, especially with it being the first time for me.”
Some fans are hoping a cash option returns to Lambeau, especially after the duplicate charges. The stadium became completely cashless in 2020.
