SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) – The Seymour Police Department says it received a complaint Tuesday afternoon about two door-to-door salespeople in the city.
The caller says the salespeople presented themselves as basement inspectors.
Seymour police checked with the city clerk to determine if the inspections were legitimate.
The clerk reports there are no active permits for door-to-door basement inspectors in city limits.
Seymour police suggest residents ask for a permit from any door-to-door salesperson.
Solicitor permits are not granted until police perform a background check.
Workers performing house calls will have a marked “City of Seymour” vehicle, and personal identification proving they are a city employee.
