TOWN OF WABENO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Two people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Forest County on Wednesday.
The Forest County Sheriff’s Office reports a police dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs during the stop, where a used crack pipe, copper scrubber, and used baggie were found.
35-year old Thomas Olds of Crandon and 36-year old Amellia McGeshick of Wabeno were taken into custody. Olds was arrested on suspicion of operating under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a probation violation. McGeshick could be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities later found McGeshick was hiding two more used crack pipes. She then admitted the confiscated baggie had held crack cocaine, but she and Olds had just smoked it.
Just before arriving at the jail, McGeshick also revealed she was in possession of more crack cocaine. A search found 20.5 grams of the drug.
Formal charges have not been filed.
