HORTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ) – The Hortonville Football team will take the field against Kaukauna tonight with an extra special purpose.
A Hortonville teen killed in a vehicle crash this week was a member of the Polar Bears football team. School Administration says they plan to take time to remember Collin Krivoshein tonight.
“The team and the players and the coaches have done a very good job trying to create an environment where Collin is going to be remembered. Both student sections are going to honor him. There have been some t-shirt sales and towel sales that will be displayed and there is some pregame stuff that the family will be included in.”
Hortonville High School Principal Thomas Ellenbecker says they are limited with what they can do since it is a WIAA Playoff game, but both student sections plan to find ways to honor Collin and the team will have a big goal.
“These are young men who have really heavy hearts right now. They lost a great friend and a great teammate so I think that there is going to be a sense of let’s do this for Collin.”
Krivoshein was 17-year-old.
“He was probably the type of kid that we would want to raise our own kids to be like. He was very motivated and very involved in his community,” said Ellenbecker. “He was a great role model for his peers and in the end, as parents, we all hope we can raise someone like a Collin.”
