GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – There was an extra police presence at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College on Monday, after Green Bay Police received word of a possible threat against someone at the college.
“As officers arrived on scene they tried to locate the complainant who called this in, but they were unable to locate that person,” says Commander Kevin Warych, “At this time, we do not have any location of where the caller was.”
Police and security searched the NWTC campus for someone who reportedly claimed there would be a shooting at the school Monday morning.
“The investigation had possible leads. Working closely with campus security, we tried to make sure all students and staff were safe at all times,” says Warych.
Police were on campus investigating the case throughout the day, but they were unable to find or make contact with the person behind the initial call.
“At this time, we never located the complainant. So we have nothing to backtrack. In this situation, we try to investigate all possible leads, all possible names, or anything involved in the investigation to figure out what the motive behind the threat was and to hold people accountable for making such threats,” Warych tells WTAQ News.
Anyone with information regarding the case should contact Green Bay Police.
