OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – An Oconto County man will spend the next 15 years in prison for the sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography.
32-year old Jeremy Hoover will also spend 15 years on extended supervision.
Earlier this year, Hoover reportedly used a social media app to share and receive child pornography, which then led investigators to find that he had repeatedly sexually a girl who was between 7 and 17 months old.
Hoover apologized and said he wants to work to be a productive member of society again.
“I understand the burden I carry will never be equal to those my family carries. I understand that I may never be able to repair the pain that I have caused, and even if I could, it would not remove the fact I caused it to begin with,” Hoover says.
“This a horrific case,” Judge Michael Judge says, “I’m dealing with a child that may have to suffer for a lifetime. It’s so unfair to her because you have caused the most terrible of offenses.”
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office as assisted by Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.
