GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The suspect in a west-side murder was sentenced Monday to one year in prison for drug crimes pre-dating the April 30 homicide.
Jacob Ventura, 35, was convicted of seven charges, including cocaine possession, dating back to 2020.
Meanwhile, Ventura does not yet have an attorney for the drug-related homicide near Western and Perkins avenues. No preliminary hearing has been scheduled. A status conference will be held Nov. 14.
Gustavo Cantu and Alejandro Cantu are also charged in the homicide but have not been arrested. Warrants have been issued.
According to the complaint, police were called to the scene for reports of multiple gun shots. One witness told police Gustavo Cantu was the shooter. Randall Denny was killed. A witness told police the victim may have stolen a pound of meth from the Cantus. The victim was shot in the head, according to the autopsy report
