STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ)- The historic granary building in Sturgeon Bay will be taken down.
The City Council approved the contract for the job after multiple meetings have been held about the building.
The fire chief ordered for the building to be razed for safety reasons, stating that the building was deteriorating.
In efforts to save the building, the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society raised over a million dollars.
The cost to demolish the building and store the items for a year will cost over $66 thousand dollars.
