ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Packer fans of all ages packed the stands at Lambeau Field Friday night for Packers Family Night. While it’s just another practice it had the feel of a real game. 50,112 fans attended this year, among them, Denny Ahlborg, there with his daughter.
“It’s so nice. My daughter’s nine, and she’s just starting to watch and ask questions and get into football,” explained Packers fan, Denny Ahlborg. So, it’s a really good experience for that.”
“That’s what we do every year, we watch the games — it’s kind of a religion,” said Packers fan, Andre Nieves.
Some families are most excited about seeing new faces at Lambeau.
“I’m excited from the atmosphere, but I’m also excited to see the new crop of wide receivers that we got in the draft, to see what they look like” said Brad Clark.
Others, like young young fan Aaron Moore from Whitewater, are looking forward to seeing Aaron Rodgers. For him, Rodgers is his favorite for a simple reason — they’re both named Aaron.
But when it comes to Super Bowl expectations, Moore isn’t so sure.
“I don’t know, they lost some of their best players too,” explained Moore. “So, who knows?”
Even with mixed feelings about the upcoming seasons, fans were certain to have fun at Family Night, whether that be throwing a football of their own or watching the fireworks display.
