TOWN OF OMRO, WI (WTAQ) – One person has died in a crash that closed a stretch of Hwy. 21 between Oshkosh and Omro for several hours Wednesday.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says a van heading westbound on Hwy. 21 crossed the center line and was struck by a semi.
The driver the van, a male, died at the scene. No one else was in the van.
Witnesses told investigators the van had been driving straight but swerved suddenly.
The driver of the semi had minor injuries.
The highway was closed between Sand Pit Road and Highway FF for about four hours.
