OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Three teens have been arrested for “making terroristic threats” that shut down Oshkosh’s two public high schools Thursday.
Police arrested a 17-year-old man and 18-year-old man from Oshkosh and a 15-year-old boy from Neenah.
The two older teens were taken to jail. The 15-year-old was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
Authorities say the Neenah boy was a runaway who was found in Oshkosh.
District officials say North and West high schools will reopen at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Elementary and middle schools, which were not mentioned in the threat, had planned to keep students indoors during recess as a precaution.
In a Facebook post Thursday morning, the district said the threat – which was made to the high schools only – was “unconfirmed.”
Police say threats were made in 9-1-1 calls to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday and Thursday.
