KEWAUNEE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A string of vandalism is reported in Kewaunee County on Tuesday night.
“Throughout the townships of Franklin, Montpelier, and West Kewaunee, there were approximately 50 mailboxes that had been damaged, as well as the windshield to a truck. Some that were actually damaged to the point where they were no longer affixed to the post, they were actually laying on the ground. Others that were just damaged and remain on the post.”
Sheriff Matt Joski says the damage started around 8 pm, with reports saying the suspect vehicle is a truck with a loud exhaust.
“Probably an act of immaturity. Probably somebody from the younger demographics of our community but in our community, we take it seriously. This isn’t just standard damage to property. When you damage a U.S. Postal box, that actually does have a greater criteria in regards to potential charges.”
Anyone with property damage or information can call the sheriff’s department at 1-920-388-7100.
