APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A book has been selected for this year’s ‘Fox Cities Reads’ program.
The Fox Cities Book Festival has chosen Ruta Sepetys’ “Salt to the Sea” for its One Book, One Community reading initiative.
The book is set in 1945, during World War II.
Menasha Public Library’s Joe Bongers says reading as a group has an even greater impact than reading by yourself.
“When you take that next step and you not only read but you get together and discuss a book with other people who have a different perspective, different background than you do, it’s that much more transformative. It can really bring people together.”
Readers will have a chance to meet the author on April 12-13.
