FREEDOM, WI (WTAQ) – A Freedom couple spends Valentine’s Day 2018 in a much better place than they were one year prior.
While Randy Guerts is still battling stage four prostate cancer, his wife Sally has learned she’s beaten her stage two breast cancer.
“Never in my life did I think this would happen to us both, but I just stayed positive,” said Sally.
After a close friend passed away of cancer last year, the Guerts’ decided they needed to start living life, taking a trip to Hawaii.
“He said that’s it. Within a month he had the trip booked, and we were in Hawaii,” said Sally.
The Guerts’ say this Valentine’s Day, they are just happy to have each other.
