GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Gas prices dropped in the Green Bay and Fox Valley areas last week.
According to GasBuddy, drivers in the Green Bay area were paying 7.1 cents less per gallon on Sunday than they were a week earlier, with the average price at $2.26.
In the Appleton area, the price was down 3.2 cents to $2.21.
Industry analysts say weak demand has led to the drop in prices, which has lasted for more than three weeks.
In a news release Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, says
“Before motorists celebrate such cheap gas, the sweet deal likely won’t stick much longer as we’ve been waiting since last week to see such loss-leaders to disappear. However, we may continue to see the national average moderate during the next week, with the exception in the Great Lakes – where a price adjustment of sorts is still expected.”
