GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Construction is underway for a new apartment community called The Fort at the Railyard.
The project, originally pitched to the city back in 2019, is expected to cost $59 million.
The Fort aims to provide affordable living spaces, setting aside 187 units for residents earning up to 60% of the area median income. The rest of the 233 units will be available at market price.
The five-story building will be at 419 Donald Driver Way, on former Larsen Canning property near Leicht Memorial Park.
TWG, a real estate development company, says it’s excited to renew construction efforts for the redevelopment of the historic property.
The Fort project is expected to be completed in late 2024.
