MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Theft charges have been filed against a former bookkeeper at Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
Wanda Larson is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the school in a period from July 1, 2012, and September 25, 2014, according to the criminal complaint.
Larson is due back in court for a preliminary hearing March 11.
According to the complaint, Larson used school funds to pay for personal items, including airline tickets, car rentals and hotel rooms. Other funds allegedly were used to cover purchases through PayPal and at retail stores. School officials calculated the missing amount at $81,138.64.
Larson admitted to the thefts to investigators. She said she “hated” the school because of the way it treats women, that she continued to get additional work, and did not get raises.
