TOWN OF MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) – Town of Menasha Police continue to investigate after after a call Wednesday night to a motel room in the 2000 block of Holly Road. The initial report indicated a man had been severely beaten and appeared to be dead.
Further information indicated police would also find drugs, alcohol and underage persons in the room as well.
When police and paramedics arrived at the motel they were greeted by 3 men.
As officers spoke to them they saw another man lying in the bathroom area and he appeared unresponsive. The victim, a 31 year old homeless man, was taken to the hospital. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The continued investigation showed a 16 year old boy, a resident of the hotel, is believed to be responsible for the man’s injuries and was taken into custody.
One of the other men in the room, an 18 year old homeless man, was taken into custody after he misidentified himself to police. One of those officers recognized him from past contacts and found he had six outstanding warrants for his arrest.
