DENMARK, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is warning Wisconsin businesses of organized theft groups after an antique store in Denmark was robbed Monday.
Three women and a suspected juvenile allegedly distracted an employee at the store and then stole a 1908 Saint Gaudens $20 gold coin. The coin is worth approximately $4,250.
The suspects are associated with a silver SUV.
These distraction tactics have been used by other organized theft groups in the Green Bay area in the past, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials warn that these organized theft groups tend to travel and target multiple locations in a short period of time.
If you have information regarding the identity of the suspects, the location of the coin or any other information on similar crimes, please contact Sgt. March Shield at (920) 448-4404 or marc.shield@browncountywi.gov.
