GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – No one was hurt after an electrical fire at a Green Bay apartment Monday morning.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was called to an east side apartment building on Cherry Street just after 8 a.m.
Firefighters saw the unit closest to the fire had a working smoke detector that did sound, but it was improperly sitting on top of a refrigerator.
Crews says the cause of the blaze was electrical wiring in the attic.
Officials say 10 residents were displaced and the fire caused about $20,000 in damage.
