APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A former Kimberly Papermakers booster club treasurer has learned her fate for stealing from the group.
44-year-old Carrie Kluge was sentenced Thursday to 2 months in jail and 24 months probation.
School district officials estimated that $60,000 was stolen while Kluge was treasurer from August 2012 through January 2015.
After being confronted about the missing money, Kluge deposited $17,522 back into the account, according to the criminal complaint. Kluge then showed up twice with pillowcases full of cash to reimburse the club — once with $20,823.47, another time with $10,802.51.
The booster club is a nonprofit that is financially independent from the district.
