FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – SWAT team members were called in to arrest a 29-year-old Fond du Lac man following a domestic dispute Saturday.
Police were called to a reported argument between the man and a woman at a residence in the 100 block of N. Marr Street just after 5 p.m. During the argument, officers learned the man had armed himself with a knife.
According to our news partner KFIZ, the man has a history of domestic incidents and had 2 outstanding felony warrants.
The man apparently barricaded himself in a bathroom when the cops arrived at the scene. Officers had the woman and her children exit the home and were escorted to a safe location. Patrol officers negotiated at length with the suspect to exit, but he refused to comply.
About 3 hours later, Fond du Lac Police’s SWAT team officers were able to negotiate with the man and get him to surrender.
No one was injured during the standoff.
The man is being held on several charges related to this incident as well as a previous domestic incident along with outstanding warrants and probation hold.
