UNDATED (WTAQ) – A federal lawsuit has been filed against a Fox Valley strip club by two of the dancers.
According to the 22-page civil suit, Maryrose Wolfe and Cassie Klein accuse Sapphires Gentleman’s Club of violating federal wage laws.
The suit suggests there could be over 50 people taking part in a class action lawsuit.
According to the suit, some of the issues raised include:
- Whether Sapphires exotic dancers are employees or independent contractors
- Whether Sapphires violated Wisconsin’s wage and hour laws by failing to pay Plaintiffs Wolfe, Klein, and the Wisconsin Minimum Wage Class the applicable minimum wage rate for all hours worked
- Whether Sapphires violated Wisconsin’s wage and hour laws by failing to pay Plaintiffs Klein and the Wisconsin Overtime Class the applicable overtime compensation rate for all hours worked over forty (40) hours in one workweek, and
- Whether Sapphires’ actions as described in this Complaint were willful violations of Wisconsin law
- Whether Sapphires violated Wisconsin law by imposing a series of fines on Plaintiff Wolfe’s, Plaintiff Klein’s, and the Wisconsin Deductions Class’ for alleged violations of company policy.
The suit was filed on Tuesday February 9. No court dates have been scheduled.
