APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — Investigators are looking into what caused a fire in Appleton Monday night.
Crews were called to a home near the intersection of North Superior Street and West Winnebago Street around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire.
The fire department says it appears the fire started somewhere on the first floor, and spread up a wall to the second and third floors.
No one was at home at the time. No firefighters were hurt.
