UNDATED (WTAQ) – Thanks to the notoriety from the Netflix series “Making a Murderer“, Steven Avery’s defense team is hitting the road for a 27-stop speaking tour in the U.S. and Canada.
The series entitled, “A Conversation on Justice,” will see Jerry Buting and Dean Strang touch on the Avery case and its broader implications. Both also plan to talk about the American criminal justice system and their experiences with it.
The tour kicks off in Boston on April 16. Highlights of the tour include stops in Minneapolis on June 2, Chicago on June 3 before ending August 21 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. None of the stops on the tour are in Wisconsin.
Tickets go on sale Friday.
The Netflix series garnered international attention when it was released back in December. It examined the legal history of Steven Avery, including his conviction of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. His nephew, Brendan Dassey, was convicted in a separate trial for his role in the killing.
