GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Warmer temperatures are expected this week and that’s sure to induce spring fever in many Wisconsinites.
Meteorologist Jeff Last with the National Weather Service says the weather later this spring shouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
“We’re going to have precipitation amounts probably pretty close to a typical springtime. We don’t anticipate a really wet spring, at least at this point.”
Looking back on the winter, Last said it was pretty much what they expected, with milder and wetter conditions. He says El Nino had a big effect on the warmer conditions.
However, the weather in the Badger State has a reputation of fooling it’s residents. One minute the temperatures are in the 40’s and 50’s and the next minute it’s cold again. Last says we could get one final blast of wintery air before it’s all said and done.
“I wouldn’t say winter is over but certainly it is exiting and soon we’ll be in a springtime pattern which will last probably a good portion of April and May.”
Spring officially arrives March 20th.
