GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Get ready to lose one hour of sleep this weekend.
You’ll need to set your clock ahead as Daylight Saving Time starts at 2:00 Sunday morning.
This is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors and make sure they’re working properly. Green Bay Assistant Fire Chief, Mike Nieft, says these products are critical in saving lives.
“Early notifications are what gives you the opportunity to get out, save your life and call us.”
Nieft adds that when buying a carbon monoxide detector, it’s important not to purchase the cheapest one.
“It’s important that you get one that has a readout that tells you what level is alarming because it lets you know the emergency level of the situation.”
You can find detectors at any home improvement store.
