OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Police say a man was hit and killed by a train in Oshkosh early Saturday.
Authorities say the train was headed north into the city, approaching Fond du Lac Road, when it struck the 20-year-old Oshkosh man.
At this time, police don’t know why the victim was on the tracks.
The collision happened a few hundred feet south of Fond du Lac Road, not at an intersection with a road or pedestrian crossing. Canadian National Railroad reported the incident to police.
The victim’s name has not been released.
