GREEN LAKE, WI (WTAQ)- Cash bond has been set at $50-thousand dollars for a man accused of drunkenly leading police on a high-speed chase.
In court Friday, prosecutors say Jeremy Kirst led officers throughout Green Lake County, with the pursuit reaching speeds of 85 miles-per-hour.
According to officials, a deputy attempted to pull over a truck on Highway 23 in the Brooklyn Township, but Kirst allegedly took off before turning on a side street and going through a field. Sheriff officials say the truck hit an embankment and flipped over.
According to the report, Kirst got out of the vehicle with his dog and ran into a marsh. A police dog was able to quickly track them down near an excavating business. Police say before he was arrested, Kirst may have stolen another vehicle.
He was arrested in Waushara County.
While he has not been formally charged, requested charges include 10th offense OWI.
