APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Appleton Police Department is investigating a series of shootings that happened early Sunday morning.
Three reports were sent to police between 1:18 a.m. and 3:16 a.m. and police think they are related.
The first incident happened at the Apple Pub on College Avenue.
Officers found several people locked inside the bar.
Those locked inside said a man had threatened them with a gun.
Sergeant Dave Lund says “an individual had left a bar, went to a nearby vehicle, obtained a gun, and came back and had made threats to several people.”
No shots were fired at the pub.
Lund explains what officers believed spurred the incident.
“It appears that the initial disturbance that occurred downtown was a dispute that seems to have evolved from pool that was being played inside the bar.”
The second report came in at 2:15 a.m. at Grumpy’s Pub on Richmond Street.
When officers arrived they found a vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the parking lot of the bar.
Lund shares what witnesses told investigators.
“There was a fight that had occurred inside of the business, reporting shots being fired outside of the business.”
Officials say the third incident came from a home on the 700 block of West Third Street.
Police found a bullet hole in the windshield of a car at the home.
Several people from earlier incidents were at the home, according to police.
According to Lund, “there’s at least a handful of people that had direct involvement in these incidents.”
As the investigation continued, someone told police they found several shell casings in the road on the 600 block of N. Bennett Street.
Officers collected the casings.
No injuries have been reported from any of the incidents.
Lund notes many of the people they have interviewed have been uncooperative and providing false information.
He says they are looking to speak with a person of interest, who is pictured above.
