GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Excitement at Green Bay’s Bay Beach Amusement Park as a rehabbed eagle is released on Wednesday.
The bird was rehabbed at Bay Beach’s Wildlife Sanctuary.
The release is in memory of longtime environmental advocate Irene Kress, whose family helps keep the sanctuary’s exhibits free to the public.
Mike Reed is the sanctuary’s director.
“Without those donations, we wouldn’t be able to have the opportunities for people to come and enjoy nature and learn about the environment.”
Reed says they welcome nearly 400,000 visitors per year.
