GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Three staff members at Green Bay’s Franklin Middle School get their heads shaved for a good cause.
More than $2,000 has been raised for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which helps children with cancer.
That cause is close to the heart of teacher Heather Zelzer.
“My mother was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, and I had to experience her cutting off her hair, and I thought to support her I would do that, and I decided to do it in school so that kids see compassion, that we’re a community and that we have to support one another.”
In addition, students made signs, wrote letters, and colored pictures for people battling cancer.
