OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A building on the UW-Oshkosh campus has been tagged with graffiti.
University police say the graffiti is on the Webster Residence Hall building.
It was noticed and then painted over on Friday morning.
“The first word that’s written on there is a guy born in the 1960s and lived until 1988 and he was a graffiti artist in Manhattan and had some pretty good followers. In fact, I think one of his pieces sold last year for $110-million dollars.
UW-Oshkosh Police Captain Chris Tarmann says they’re still trying to figure out who’s responsible.
“We’re looking through the area. We’re trying to figure out the information, but we’re still in the early stages of that and then, you know, just normal transitioning throughout the area we can just look at that. We have to look at connecting that with the footage.”
Tarmann says there’s no estimate on the removal cost.
