GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Praise for the school safety plan that was approved Tuesday by the Wisconsin Senate.
Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith says he’s glad the measure allows for increasing law enforcement presence in schools and lets each school district decide how they want to use funding to make security upgrades.
“It means that the school districts get to decide what’s best for their school districts, so I couldn’t be happier because let’s face it, the safety of our children in school has to be of paramount importance.”
The Green Bay Area Public School District has issued a statement voicing its support for Governor Scott Walker’s plan, which is expected to be considered by the Assembly on Thursday.
