MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Manitowoc Police say alcohol and a long shower resulted in a domestic abuse incident in the early morning hours Thursday.
Police say 48-year old David Moon was angry over the length of shower his girlfriend was taking Wednesday night.
Manitowoc Patrol Captain Jason Frieboth says the arguing went on for hours and resulted in an early morning assault, where she was strangled, punched, and was attacked by her boyfriend, with tools found in the garage.
“The suspect pressed an angle grinder with a sanding disc against the victim’s ankle. The woman was also cut on the neck with a small axe. Police responded and took Moon into custody with a struggle.
“Two officers and the suspect ended up on the ground. One officer ended up using a taser,” Freiboth said.
Freiboth says both were intoxicated during the incident.
Police are recommending multiple charges including disorderly conduct, endangering safety with a dangerous weapon and resisting an officer.
