APPLETON, WI (WTAQ)- With all the Easter activity this weekend, veterinarians are reminding pet owners to keep an eye on their pets.
Dr. Sanjay Jain of Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic says Easter provides many dangers to animals.
“A lot of people like to use the Easter grass, and if cats or small dogs get a hold of that, it can cause their intestines to bunch up and that would require emergency surgery.
Doctor Jain also warns of another danger that is sometimes overlooked.
“Easter Lilly Flowers are toxic and can cause kidney disease to occur.
Chocolate is also dangerous for animals.
Doctor Jain said one thing that sometime gets missed, is that pets can get stressed out with lots of people coming and going.
He said it may be best to keep your pets in their own rooms away from the group.
