APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – One elected official is expressing interest in Outagamie County’s upcoming judicial vacancy.
The county’s district attorney, Carrie Schneider, says she will apply to fill out the remainder of Judge Michael Gage’s term, once he vacates his post July 9.
Governor Scott Walker will appoint someone to serve until next spring’s election.
The Republican Schneider is the county’s longest serving district attorney, holding the position since 2002.
If appointed, Schneider says she will run for re-election next year.
